what are different beams in construction?

simply supported beam:-when both ends of the beam is supported on supports(wall/column) maximum bending moment occurs at the bottom of the middle of the beam.hence maximum steel should be provided at the middle of the bottom of the beam in the simply supported beam tensil forceses develops at bottom of the beam compressive stress.

canit lever beam:- when one end of the beam supports on the support and the other end is free in the cantiliver beam tensil forceses develops at the top of the beam hence maximum steel should be provided at the top.

over hanging beam:- the beam is supports at the center and both ends are free. main reinforcement should be provided at the top of the beam.
